Establishment: The program was established in 2002 under the name “Pedodontics PhD Program” and has been graduating students since 2005. In 2015, the program name was changed to “Pediatric Dentistry PhD Program.”

Objective: The objective of the Pediatric Dentistry PhD Program is to educate pediatric dentists who can provide high-quality healthcare services for infants, children, adolescents, and children with special healthcare needs; conduct and manage original scientific research in the field of pediatric dentistry; and contribute to academic education and training in this discipline.

Goals: The goals of the Pediatric Dentistry PhD Program are to train pediatric dentists who are capable of successfully diagnosing and treating infants, children, adolescents, and children with special healthcare needs; planning and implementing preventive and oral health promotion programs for both individuals and communities; and following scientific developments in the field in order to contribute innovative advancements to science as academicians.

Degree Awarded: Graduates who successfully fulfill all program requirements are awarded the “PhD Degree in Pediatric Dentistry.”
