Doctoral Program in Biotechnology

About

The Biotechnology Ph.D. Program was established in September 2011 within the Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences at Yeditepe University.

Program Objectives

The primary goal of the Biotechnology Program is to cultivate individuals capable of developing solutions for pressing issues in health, agriculture, food, and environmental sectors through focused research and development (R&D) and educational activities. Furthermore, the program aims to provide our country with a highly qualified workforce in this specialized field.

Program Vision

The program's objective is to significantly contribute to the formation of national policies for Turkey's scientific and economic future by collaborating with national and international universities, Technoparks, and R&D institutes in both education and research. This is achieved particularly through university-industry collaborative projects.


Admission Requirements for the Ph.D. Program (with M.Sc. degree)

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Hold a Master's degree (or be expected to complete it by the end of the application period)
  • Present a minimum score of 55 in ALES (for Turkish citizens)
    (Foreign applicants are exempt from ALES)
  • Demonstrate English proficiency with one of the following minimum scores:
  • YDS: 55 (for Turkish citizens) or TOEFL iBT: 66
  • Successfully pass the program interview

 

For the Integrated Ph.D. Program (with B.Sc. degree)

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree (or be expected to graduate by the end of the application period)
  • Have a minimum GPA of 3.00/4.00
  • Present a minimum score of 80 in ALES (for Turkish citizens)
    (Foreign applicants are exempt from ALES)
  • Demonstrate English proficiency with one of the following minimum scores:
  • YDS: 55 (for Turkish citizens), or TOEFL iBT: 66
  • Successfully pass the program interview

Note for International Applicants

International applicants are not required to submit ALES scores, but they must provide proof of English proficiency (TOEFL iBT) and are subject to the program interview.
